Expanding our catalogue & capabilities
to bring the joy of “a new way to play” to the world

Representative Director,
Chairperson and President, Founder

Yuzi Tsutani

As Voltage marks its 20th anniversary on September 17 of this year, I am deeply grateful to all those who have supported us on our journey.

Looking back over the last 20 years, I feel as if it has not been a straightforward road, but rather a staircase that builds a new step every three years or so.

The first step for me was creating novel-style games. From there, we had a period of experimentation in the realm of graphics, film and music. Now I see that I was really looking for my area of expertise in this market.

Once I learned that the crux of our content lies in the storytelling, that was where we started creating romance games. This is where we had our first big hit, allowing us to create even more stories. Resonating with players brought a wider user base, our company grew, and finally we were listed in the First Section of the TSE. That is what I mean when I say that a goal of ours is to expand our catalogue as well as our numbers.

From there, we entered our fifth stage, in which I changed direction a little and challenged myself to create content for English-speaking countries as well as the male market in Japan. By opening a branch office in the United States, we were expanding our reach as a company; in other words, this was the stage in which we truly began to expand our capabilities.

As we celebrate our 20th year, we are also entering the seventh stage of our development, where I feel the place and manner of creating content is starting to change so drastically. Until now, our games have been entirely created by the know-how of our in-house staff and their ability to create good stories and turn them into compelling mobile games. However, now we often interact with our players via social media and have started to leave our home office to directly interact with them via participation in various live events.
The enthusiasm and cheerful smiles of our fans helps us often in a creative sense, and makes the process that much more enjoyable by bringing home the feeling that we are creating and enjoying what we create together.

So, I’d like to say that I’m ready for the next three, six, even nine years! I look forward to finding what “new ways to play” we are able to create together with our valued customers and shareholders.
Voltage would not be what we are today without your support. We hope we will have it in the years to come!

“Keep believing in the power of what you create.”

As we mark the 20th anniversary of our founding, we would like to express our deep appreciation not only to our current users, but to all people who support, or have supported, Voltage and our content.

The driving force that has kept us going for the last 20 years is twofold: The desire to create and send content out into the world that can be enjoyed by so many people, and the desire to be part of creating a better company. We started this company with the belief that enjoying content like ours can heal those who feel beaten down by the hustle and bustle of daily life and be a testament to how just living in your own way can become something truly special and meaningful. While our journey and philosophy began in Japan, now people all over the world can experience this for themselves through enjoying our content as well.

We are committed to keeping up with the times while we pursue our aim of creating content that will win the hearts of people the world over, and to continuing our efforts to grow into a more attractive company known for being a place where all our employees can grow professionally and work with pride in themselves and the content they create.
